How can I get rid of the right of servitude?
How can I get rid of the right of servitude?
I loved a girl and I became lovers with her, then I started to cool down from her, and when I became religious, my cooling increased, I don’t want to be lovers, but when I explained this to her, she cursed me by saying that you gave me hope, my right is not halal, what should I do?
Dear brother
First of all, congratulations for seeking the Realm of Truth to understand your situation and to find the right solution. Here is what you need to do in this situation:
1. Sincere Repentance
First, you should turn to Allah and repent sincerely. Allah accepts sincere repentance and forgives His servants. The Holy Qur’an says, O you who believe! Turn to Allah in sincere repentance… (Tahrim, 66:8). Repent from the heart and be determined not to make the same mistake again.
2. Asking for Halalik
To make it up to the other person, you need to sincerely ask for forgiveness. Explain that you regret that you gave him/her hope and that you are sorry for this situation. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever has wronged his brother, let him make amends (before the Day of Judgment comes)…” (Bukhari, Al-Masalim 10).
3. Good Words and Prayers
Try to make him/her feel better by saying kind words and pray for him/her. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “If a person prays for his Muslim brother in absentia, the angel will say to him, ‘Amen, may the same thing happen to you'” (Muslim, Zikr 87). This can help soften the heart of the other person.
4. End the Relationship
It is best to end this relationship in order to lead a pious life and avoid adultery. Make an effort to lead a peaceful life by following Allah’s commands and avoiding haram. Ask for Allah’s help in this process and be patient.
5. A New Beginning
Turn over a new leaf in your life and adopt a lifestyle in line with the requirements of your religion. Prayer, worship and being close to Allah will give you strength in this process.
Conclusion
Islam always keeps the door of repentance open and accepts sincere repentance. Getting the other party’s halal, repenting and turning to Allah are the most important steps you need to take to get on the right path. Allah never leaves His sincere servants alone and guides them on the right path. We wish you a peaceful life following the teachings of the Holy Prophet and the Holy Quran.
